About Us

Owned and run by Selina Bean who has been in the hairdressing industry since 1997 gives her experience of 25 + years in her field. Selina has worked from Queensland to the UK in prestigious upmarket salons, competed and won hairdressing competitions, participated with Mercedes Fashion Week hair styling, worked extensively on Editorial Magazine shoots in the UK (including a front cover of a local magazine, The Rutland Times), and has trained in London at the TIGI Academy. Highly experienced in all aspects of hairdressing but has a passion and excitement for Event Styling and specializes in creating all shades of blondes incorporating different techniques including foiling, babylights, freehand painting, and balayage. Selina is highly passionate about the health and integrity of the hair, maintaining its most optimum condition. After using many different products over her career as a Hairdresser, she has settled on EVO and O&M products that are Australian-made and owned. Both EVO and O&M are proud to be vegan, paraben, and sulfate-free with little impact on the environment. O&M are Australian born, clean colour with no Ammonia, Resorcinol and PPD. 

Before Opening Charlie Bean Salon, Selina had dreamed and aspired to create a beautiful, ambient space where you can come, relax and feel pampered. After working within the industry for so many years, Selina discovered that there was a market missing for a space like hers that provided quality hairdressing along with personalised service. With it's beautifully designed interior, Charlie Bean Salon welcomes you with confidence that you will enjoy the ambient, calming, and professional atmosphere it holds as well as the highly trained and experienced team that makes Charlie Bean Salon.

Ellie is a fully qualified Senior Hairdresser who has been in the industry since 2016 and has been highly trained in one of the top salons on the East coast of Australia. Ellie has recently returned to Australia from living and working in London but is excited to be back on home ground. She has a passion for long hair including blondes and balayage, fun vibrant colours including bright copper/redheads, and glamour styling (Hollywood waves).  

She is excited to be continuing her career path with Charlie Bean Salon and looks forward to meeting all who she encompasses. Her skills and level of professionalism are of high quality and you will not be disappointed with your service from Ellie. 

Lottie is our newest member to the team and is embarking on her Hairdressing journey with us! 

Lottie is 19 and has moved from country NSW to pursue a career in Hairdressing. She grew up dancing learning everything from ballet to tap to hip hop. 

Lottie is so excited about her journey into hairdressing as she looks forward to making people feel beautiful about themselves. She also has a great interest in edgy haircuts and bold hair colours. Lottie is looking forward to meeting you and will help to look after you when you enter Charlie Bean Salon!
